AS the Rickmansworth Canal Festival comes to a close, it is estimated that around 10,000 visitors took part in the fun.
The traditional two-day festival is a chance for people to learn more about their local waterways and help raise money for the Rickmansworth Waterways Trust, which organises the event.
Visitors took boat trips on a historic narrow boat, had their faces painted, listened to various bands and joined in the activities including Tug of War.
The event is also an occasion for boaters up and down the country to get together and celebrate their lifestyle.
Mike Coleman, the education co-ordinator, said: "It has been a great success, Sunday is always busier than the Saturday and today's nice weather helped to.
"We have had lots of children and adults joining in.
"They always seem amazed at how beautiful the canal is."
