A CGI has revealed how a proposed five-storey block of flats in the town centre could look.

Amended plans were submitted last week for 36 one and two-bed flats in Lower High Street, Watford.

Thames Water no longer objects after earlier designs were withdrawn amid fears of polluting water, but others have now voiced concerns.

James Jeffery, an interim tree manager, said he objects to the proposal in its current form as he expects further assessments to be submitted due to the proximity to trees adjacent to the site.

The borough council's housing advice and homelessness service also does not support the plans as they offer no affordable housing.

Prices are expected to range from £255,000 to £525,000 for the homes.

To suit local policies encouraging the use of public transport, the proposed development is expected to be car-free with one disabled parking space.
