Proposals to extend a care home are among the planning applications that have been submitted to Watford, Three Rivers Hertsmere and Dacorum councils.

The plan, for Hillside Rest Home, in Kingsfield Road, Watford, would involve modifications and an extension to the building, along with the addition of a separate 'activity building' in the rear garden.

A planning statement with the application states the aim is to "create an attractive, accessible, and supported living environment for adults with learning difficulties and autism on the existing site".

This is subject to another application being approved because the existing planning conditions only allow for the care of old people.
