The end of the last century featured its share of change in Watford and the surrounding areas, both through man-made and more natural reasons.

The Watford Observer produced a series of supplements called The Millennium Collection to look back at events in the town and south west Herts in the 20th century at the end of 1999.

The fourth and final part of that series focused on the years 1975 to 1999 and having re-published ten pictures from that supplement earlier this month, a further eight can be seen on this page, including the original captions.

They include images from our archive showing flooding at a college in Watford, Gade House in the High Street and an aerial view of the carnival in Bushey.

It was also a period that marked the end of a school in Rickmansworth and the end of the line for a coach in Kings Langley.

We hope you enjoy seeing these pictures again and they prompt some more memories.
