Rail passengers in the Watford area face huge levels of disruption over the coming week due to more strike action.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) at Network Rail and rail operators across the country will strike on November 5, 7 and 9 in the long running disputes over pay, jobs and conditions.

Services by London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railways, Thameslink, Southern, London Overground, and London Underground are among those that will be impacted.

Below are details of how services that operate via Watford Junction and surrounding stations will be affected.

London Northwestern Railway

A limited service will be in operation on the London Northwestern line on Friday November 4 with trains only running between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm.

A limited service will be in operation on November 5, 7, and 9 with trains between 7am and 7pm only.

Services on November 6 and 8 will start later than usual due to industrial action from the previous day. National Rail says the majority of trains will not run before 8am.

Avanti West Coast

The number of Avanti West Coast services will be reduced on November 5, 7, and 9 and hours of operation will be shorter.

Southern and Thameslink

Passengers are advised to travel only if “absolutely necessary” on November 5, 7, and 9.

The railway will operate limited opening hours with services starting later than normal and finishing in the late afternoon.

Chiltern Railways

Services will only be running between approximately 8am and 5.30pm on November 5, 7, and 9.

Services will also begin later than usual on the mornings of November 6 and 8.

London Overground

A reduced service will be in place between the hours of 7.30am and 6.30pm on November 5, 7, and 9. No trains will run outside of these hours.

Services may be disrupted before 8am on November 6 and 8.

A strike planned for November 3 on the Overground has been delayed until November 10. Further details are expected to be released on how the network will be impacted.

London Underground

Strike action is planned to take place on November 10. London Underground is advising there will be limited or no services running.
