A schoolgirl ran away after she was reportedly shouted at to get into a stranger's vehicle.

It happened near the Co-op shop in the Dickinsons Square area of Croxley Green at around 3.40pm yesterday (November 8).

It was reported to police that the ten-year-old was walking home from school when she heard a man behind her ask if she wanted to get into his car.

She immediately ran off to seek help and the man did not attempt to follow the girl or speak to her further.

Police say that because the girl fled so quickly, she did not look to see the man or his vehicle.

Therefore no description of a suspect or their vehicle can be issued but police have confirmed enquiries are ongoing.

The girl's mother reported the incident to police and warned others about what had happened to her daughter on social media and neighbourhood apps

Hertfordshire Constabulary says anyone with information which might help is asked to call 101, quoting ISR 449 of 8 November.
