A dumping hotspot at flats has got out of control again with rubbish now piling up towards the ceiling.

The bin storage area in Ovaltine Drive, Kings Langley, was previously branded a “serious health hazard” with animals reportedly feasting at the site.

Thrive Homes, which owns the property, last month blamed it on “an error with the collection address” and said it had since been resolved.

But just weeks later images have emerged of rubbish spilling out of the room again.

A photo, published online this morning (November 24), shows litter growing out of the bins alongside discarded chairs, cupboards and mattresses.

The poster wrote: “Yet again Thrive Homes our bins are left too long between collections, combined with no lock on bin stores and it looks like this.

“How many times does this need reporting?”

They added: “I hope the cost of collection won’t be passed on to residents as these stores aren’t secure, and so becoming a dumping ground that’s nothing to do with residents.

“All that needs to happen is a new lock and this wouldn’t keep happening.”

Thrive Homes replied on Twitter “sorry to learn this” and requested details to investigate.

Assistant director Emma Comer said: "Thrive Homes is aware of the situation with waste at Ovaltine Drive and a clearance has already been scheduled for tomorrow (Friday).

"We will be re-communicating with our residents on what can and can’t be disposed of in the bin stores as a matter of urgency to avoid this situation occurring.”

When asked if the cost of clearing it would be passed onto residents, she added: "When furniture is incorrectly disposed of in the bin areas, our experience is that sadly this can often be caused by former customers who have left their property.

"We will be exploring who may be responsible for blocking the bins and they will be the only people charged for the removal of their waste.”
