A drawing has revealed how a former industrial site next to a railway station could become an “attractive” living space for commuters.
Harman Property Developments has proposed building a six-storey block containing 36 flats in Station Road in Kings Langley.
The unit would also feature 2,214 square foot of retail space and would be constructed on the old Alpine Press printing company site.

A statement detailing the proposal reads: “The site is in a highly sustainable location, with many suitable public transport options available in close proximity to the site.
“The development is likely to be attractive to commuters who would not require access to a car during working periods and who may use travel by bus for potential trips to and from the development.”
The statement notes energy-saving features would be incorporated into the build as well as a new two-metre-high acoustic timber fence next to the railway to reduce noise levels.
It adds the building’s design would “promote local distinctiveness” in terms of character, layout, height and use of materials – in this case a combination of red and grey brick.

The site, which is proposed to include a total of 31 parking spaces, already has permission from Three Rivers District Council for 23 flats and retail space.
