Several emergency vehicles were called after concerns were raised about the welfare of a woman.

A row of police cars and ambulances were parked up in High Road in Leavesden yesterday evening (November 30).

A witness described the emergency presence near the flats as “huge” and said he heard crying and screaming.

Explaining why its officers attended, a Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 7.40pm last night (Wednesday 30 November) to report the concern for the welfare of a woman on High Road, Leavesden.

“Officers and the East of England Ambulance Service attended.

“The woman was located and taken to hospital to be assessed.”
