A Watford woman says it is “disheartening” that no one has been arrested after a Tesco delivery man was caught on camera trying to kiss her.

Doorbell footage captured him suddenly leaning in and allegedly grabbing both sides of her face while trying to kiss her on the lips.

It happened at her home in the Meriden estate on Wednesday, November 16, following which he was reported to police and the supermarket.

Herts Police confirmed no arrests have been made a month later.

The victim said: “It just feels to me that this shows that it’s not really worth speaking up.”

She added: “We had it in a video, so imagine if I never had the footage – I wouldn’t get anywhere with it. I wouldn’t have even had any response from them at all.

“So given that we did have proof, I think I would have expected something more from them.”

The 33-year-old said police initially visited quickly but told her “he would have an invitation that he could actually decline to come to the station”. Officers had not been in touch since, she added.

A Herts Police spokesperson said: “The investigation is continuing at this time and work is ongoing behind the scenes to identify the man involved.”

It is understood police contacted the victim again yesterday (December 14), the same day they were approached by the Watford Observer.

Tesco has reportedly told her the man no longer works for them but did not confirm whether he had been sacked. The supermarket did not respond to a request for confirmation.

Footage of the incident shows the driver returning to the house and saying “please don’t be offended, how old are you?”, before the victim replies 33. Appearing surprised, he exclaims “honestly”, before leaning in for the kiss.

The victim, who claimed he was aiming for her lips but never made contact, said she turned away but felt his finger slide down her nose and lip.

She said it has impacted her life, adding: “I had to buy other cameras, I had to implement more security in my house, I try my best to never answer the door, my husband is getting all the deliveries.”

A Tesco spokesperson previously said the driver had been suspended from deliveries and that complaints of this nature are taken “extremely seriously”.

“We immediately began an internal investigation and have reached out to the woman to apologise and make her aware of the actions being taken on our side,” they added.
