A family-run nursery that has opened several venues over the years has celebrated its 25-year anniversary.

Old MacDonald's Day Nursery is run by husband-and-wife duo, David and Mandy Selwood.

They opened their first branch in Bovingdon and now have nurseries in Chorleywood, The Grove in Watford, Chesham and Leverstock Green.

Its owners said they are delighted to be celebrating a 25-year anniversary.

They added: “Old MacDonald's places a strong focus on local fundraising and is proud to have raised in excess of £100,000 for various charities, alongside sponsoring children living in third world countries.”

Celebrations kicked off a The Grove Hotel, where David and Mandy used to be management consultants, commissioned by the hotel to deal with the design, build and overall setting up for their staff day nursery and customer creche facility.

“It was a celebration of a strong, longstanding team who are passionate about shaping children’s early education, some of whom attended the nursery as children themselves and have joined the Old MacDonald's family to complete their childcare qualifications,” they said.

Mandy gained her National Nursery Examination Board qualification in 1987 and has dedicated her life to caring for children ever since.

And David mainly delas with the nursery’s administration.
