It turns out we are not the only place in the world to be named Watford.

That’s right, there are three other places across the globe with the same title.

Here, we have a look at where they are and what they have to offer.

Northamptonshire

The county is home to the village of Watford that has an estimated population of 320 people.

Watford Gap service station, a place you may have seen signs of on the M1, is also near the village.

Northamptonshire Surprise website has highlighted the village’s St Peter and St Paul Church as somewhere to visit.

It has recently re-opened following extensive roof repair and restoration works. Opening times are from 10am to 4pm daily and it can be found using the address, St Peter and St Paul, Church St, Watford, NN6 7UR.

USA
Can you believe it? The name has made its way across the pond into the state of North Dakota, but this Watford is a city.  

Watford City’s tourist page suggests an abundance of activities for adventure, nature and history lovers.

You can use the city as a base to explore the Theodore Roosevelt National Park North Unit or visit the Three Affiliated Tribes to learn about their vibrant culture.

Canada
The village of Watford is located near the rural town of Warwick in Lambton County, Ontario.

People first settled in Watford in 1851, but much of it was destroyed by a fire in the 1880s.

Local company Watford Roof Truss started operating in the town in 1972 and is still there to this day.
