Three men have fled the scene after a car crash this morning in Courtlands Drive, Watford.

Police were called shortly after 8.05am to reports that a Ford Focus had collided with a parked Mercedes Vito van, leaving the road blocked.

The occupants of the Focus, believed to be three males, then fled the scene.

Officers are in attendance and road closures are in place while vehicle recovery work takes place.

Searches are also being carried out to trace the occupants.

The crash has caused disruption in the area and Google Maps showed the knock-on effect in the surrounding roads.

St Albans

In a separate and unrelated incident, police are appealing for witnesses after the father of a teenage boy has fractured his eye socket, sustained a cut to the side of his face and suffered suspected bruising to his ribs, after he and his son were attacked in Hertfordshire.

The incident took place between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, May 29, when a group of teenagers and children assaulted the pair in Clarence Park, St Albans.
