A hair salon has been put up for sale after its owner of 18 years decided to take a step back due to ill health.

Angela Richardson, 52, wants to to sell The Hair Studio in Lower Road, Chorleywood, to someone who will keep it as a hairdresser where she can continue to work.

“I am selling due to a deteriorating back problem," she told the Watford Observer.

“The reason I want to remain is because I am loyal towards my customers, and they have been very loyal to me.

“Rest assured, I intend to stay, but I am going to step away from the business side of it all.”

The site has been a hairdresser for 40 years and prior to Angela owning the store, her predecessor was there for 17 years.

She said: “The shop is a massive part of the community. Some people have been coming here longer than I have been and we get our regulars coming in too.”

The business, which caters for men and women, is being sold 'as a going concern', which means a new buyer operates the business as it is.

It is being sold for £45,000 plus stock at valuation, eight years remain on the lease, and the rent is £1,292 per month.
