A nursery’s staff have been commended for their work following a recent inspection.

Bright Little Stars Nursery in Sheepcot Lane, Watford, has been described by inspectors as a “dynamic nursery” where children ages 0 to 4 “thrive”.

In an Ofsted report released on September 1, it was revealed that following the July 31 assessment every area of the nursery was deemed “outstanding”.

Sarina Kukadia, nursery manager, said: “Since kicking off BLS Watford in 2016, our main goal has been to give every child the best start, tailored to their unique journey.

“Now, seven years later, with our second 'Outstanding' recognition from Ofsted, we feel it is not just an accolade but a testament to our dedicated team's hard work.”

She added: “We pride ourselves on our special BLS Learning Programme, high quality facilities, and all-inclusive approach to early years care and I'm super proud of all we've achieved.

“This recognition ignites our passion to keep aiming higher and we hope to continue to set a standard of excellence for years to come.”

The inspector found that the staff’s positive attitude is reflected by the children who have a “genuine enjoyment of learning”. For example, older children were able to write their own and other’s names.

It was found that the education setting recognised the impact of covid-19 and that many children had not visited a dentist. As a result, the nursery had children cleaning their teeth twice a day and information was being offered to parents.

In addition, children felt confident talking about their feelings and going to the ‘well-being area’ when needed.

The staff received high praise from the inspector who described them as having a “comprehensive knowledge of each child”.

Any child who was found to have a gap in their learning was quickly addressed, the report said.

The parents added that the staff are “integral to making this such an amazing nursery”.

For the nursery, which has 78 places, it was commended for its approach to safeguarding.

The report said that staff complete regular training to keep their knowledge up to date and children’s safety prioritised.
