Residents have been left amused after an alleged fly-tipper’s van overturned.

Police were called at around 7.42am on Sunday, September 17, following reports that building material and household waste had been left on Barnes Lane in Kings Langley.

It is thought that a blue Ford Europe van that had overturned nearby was linked to the dump.

The Watford Observer believes the vehicle was stolen over the weekend, however, we're waiting on official confirmation from the police.

Watford fly-tipping

It comes after Callowland representative Dennis Watling recently snapped fly-tipping hotspots in Watford, which he said had worsened since the borough council hiked the cost of collecting bulky items.

The worst areas are reportedly at the bottom of Victoria Road and nearby alleyways, a path near The Glenn Club, the area near Regent’s Lodge, and Balmoral Road.

Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: “There is never an excuse for fly-tipping and it is an issue we take very seriously.”

He added new CCTV is being trialled in fly-tipping hotspots in Watford.
