The Watford branch of a national recruitment agency has delivered a donation to the town's foodbank in time for Christmas.
Berry Recruitment and the Watford Rotary Club delivered a food package to support those in need this Christmas.
Watford mayor Peter Taylor and Cllr Rabi Martins, who is also a Rotarian, joined them for the donation.
The St Albans-based recruitment agency has nearly 40 locations in the UK and made donations to several foodbanks across its network.
Watford branch manager Carol Grainger said: “In Watford we try and do our bit for charities within our community and this was a great opportunity to help others.
“While Christmas is a time when people do give generously, there are people who need help with their meals all year round.
“It was very humbling to see what basics the foodbank had, and to play a small part in this worthy and necessary charity.”
The Watford foodbank hands out 10 tonnes of food to vulnerable people a month, but says it needs extra support in January when donations can drop by half.
