Hertfordshire Constabulary officers have helped deliver 500 “Warm in Winter” gift bags across the county.

The gift bags were provided by the Small Acts of Kindness charity and contain items to help anyone aged over 55 who may be cold or vulnerable in their own home this winter.

Officers handed out the bags at community engagement events in the run up to Christmas and have also delivered them directly to people’s homes.

Chief Inspector Andy Wiseman, who is overseeing the project, said: “We have worked in partnership with Small Acts of Kindness for the past four years and the support they provide to older and vulnerable people across Hertfordshire is invaluable.

“These bags are a real lifeline for some people and can have a huge impact.”
