A Watford nursery has raised hundreds of pounds for vulnerable children.

The Park Day Nursery and Preschool in Watford held an open day and raised a total of £435.47 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

The day saw a blend of engaging activities and stalls, all set with an aim to support a good cause.

The nursery put up several attractions for families such as a raffle, tombola, and lucky dip.

The nursery's practitioners also offered guided tours, giving families a glimpse of the environment they provide for children.

The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in crisis or with disadvantages.

The charity provides 'Bright Spaces', play areas designed for children who are victims of domestic abuse, homelessness, parental imprisonment, or serious health issues.

These spaces aim to help children overcome their emotional distress through play.

In 2024, the foundation plans to open its 100th Bright Space in the UK.

To mark this occasion, it will commence a '100 Your Way' campaign with a target of raising £100,000.

The year-long, 100-themed fundraiser invites individuals and communities to contribute in any form, be it walking 100 miles, performing 100 acts of kindness, or selling 100 cakes.

The funds will directly assist vulnerable children and families.
