Drivers may find their journeys disrupted over the coming weeks and months due to the planned closure of many roads in our area for roadworks.

Notices published in the Public Notice Portal detail the intention to temporarily shut roads in Watford, Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley and Chorleywood as well as other nearby locations, while new parking restrictions have come into force in streets in Croxley Green.

The portal is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are five notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in the Watford Observer area.

Roads in Watford, Sarratt and Chorleywood – Temporary closing and waiting restrictions

The county council intends to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prevent all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these roads while works are in progress.

This order is due to take effect from Monday and will be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only take effect at the times shown on signs at or near the roads:

- Stratford Way, Watford from its junction with Cassiobury Drive north eastwards to its junction with A411 Hempstead Road.

- Sheepcot Lane, Watford from its junction with A405 North Orbital Road north eastwards, north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with High Road.

- Water Lane, Watford from its junction with A411 Beechen Grove north eastwards to its junction with Bushey Hall Road.

- Moor Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Dawes Lane north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with The Green.

- Dawes Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Moor Lane north eastwards to its junction with The Green.

- Quickley Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Hillside Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 110m.

- The service road fronting Nos.39-77 Quickley Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Quickley Lane south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Rendlesham Way.

- Rendlesham Way, Chorleywood from its junction with Quickley Lane south eastwards to its junction with Furze View.

Croxley Green – Parking restrictions

There have been changes to parking restrictions in several streets in Croxley Green following an order by Three Rivers District Council.

It took effect on January 29 and involves these changes:

- Dorrofield Close - introduction of double yellow lines.

- Frankland Road, Hazelwood Road, Watford Road, Winton Drive - Introduction of pay and display parking places.

- Hazelwood Road - extend the double yellow lines.

- Watford Road, Winton Drive - Introduction of limited waiting parking places.

- Watford Road - remove permit parking bays and replace with single yellow line, introduce double yellow lines.

Roads in Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley and West Hyde – Temporary closing and waiting restrictions

The county council intends to make an order to prevent all vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these roads while works are in progress.

This order is due to take effect from Monday and will be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only take effect at the times shown on signs at or near the roads:

- Skidmore Way, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street north eastwards, south eastwards, northwards and south westwards for its entire length.

- High Elms Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with A405 St Albans Road north westwards to its junction with Woodside Road.

- Old Uxbridge Road, West Hyde from its junction with Tilehouse Lane north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its northernmost junction with A412 Denham Way.

Meriden Way, Watford – Goods vehicle loading

A goods vehicle loading bay restriction has been made on part of Meriden Way, Watford.

The order has been made by Herts County Council and came into force on January 15.

It applies at all times, Monday to Sunday.

The Chase, Watford, and Rickmansworth Road – Temporary closing and waiting restrictions

The county council intends to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prevent all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these roads while works are in progress.

This order is due to take effect from Monday and will be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only take effect at the times shown on signs at or near the roads:

- The Chase, Watford from its westernmost junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road northwards, south eastwards and southwards to its easternmost junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road.

- A412 Rickmansworth Road, Watford from its junction with Observer Drive south westwards to its junction with Queen Marys Avenue.
