He was one of the most familiar faces on British television in the 1960s and 70s but in 1984 Terry Scott was the star attraction in front of a different audience when he went back to his old school.
The late comedian and actor appeared in seven of the Carry On films but arguably achieved the height of his popularity when he starred alongside June Whitfield in the BBC1 sitcom Terry and June.
The Watford-born actor, who was also the voice of Penfold in the animated series Danger Mouse through the 80s and early 90s, was educated in the town and a former pupil of Field Junior School.

In July 1984, he returned to the Watford Field Road school for what appears to have been a summer fete where he was pictured by a Watford Observer photographer reading a hand-made ‘Welcome Back’ card made by pupils.
