A South Oxhey primary school has said it is “delighted” with its 'outstanding' Ofsted rating.

Warren Dell Primary School, in Gosforth Lane, received the grade following an inspection on January 24 and 25.

The school, which is part of Agora Learning Partnership academy trust, has been upgraded since its previous ‘good’ rating on inspection in January 2022.

In the currently unpublished report, seen by the Watford Observer, the school was rated 'outstanding' in all areas, including, quality of education, behaviour, personal development, leadership and early years provision.

Ofsted inspectors said pupils “thrive” at Warren Dell and there is a “strong sense of community”.

They are also friendly, tolerant and “focus attentively” in class and help each other.

Executive headteacher Jenny Morley said: “The Warren Dell family and our trust the Agora Learning Partnership were delighted with our Ofsted report. Our report recognises the commitment and dedication of our whole staff team along with our supportive parents and amazing children.

“We pride ourselves on treating every child as an individual so that they have every opportunity to thrive, make progress and most importantly to enjoy school.”  Warren Dell students were said to “work hard in lessons to be the very best they can be”, and meet the “incredibly high expectations” set by the staff.

The report praised the school for planning extracurricular activities that gave pupils meaningful learning experiences, such as a trip to a synagogue or cooking eggs from the school chickens.

It judged that the early school years provision was high-quality as the knowledgeable staff know the children very well and are “experts” in developing their language and vocabulary.

Warren Dell staff quickly identify pupils who need extra help and tailors support to help them catch up.

The trust and school leaders reportedly shared a “passion to be highly inclusive” and made sure the school was properly resourced with sufficient staff expertise.

Ofsted also said the staff show enthusiasm and expertise in class while the governors and trustees also carry out their jobs with great care.

The school’s safeguarding arrangements were also judged to be effective in protecting students.

Warren Dell has 262 students enrolled at the school, with specialist provision for up to 12 pupils with speech, autism, or language and communication needs.
