A woman who used another person's bank card to buy an iphone is one of several people in court accused of committing fraud in Watford.
They also include a man who conned residents out of more than £7,000 over a period of months, and Watford man who tried to use a stolen bank card to withdraw money in the town centre.

Joel Pusey
Joel Pusey, 34, appeared at St Albans Magistrates' Court on Friday, April 5, accused of scamming Watford people out of a total of £7,500 over several months in 2020 and into 2021.
The man from Someries Road, Harpenden, pleaded guilty to six counts of fraud by abuse of position.
Pusey conned people out of several large amounts of money, including £2930 from one woman between November 24, 2020, and June 29, 2021.
He will appear at St Albans Crown Court on April 26 for sentencing.
Aman Afowerki
Aman Afowerki, 27, of Whippendell Road, Watford, appeared in court accused of stealing a bank card and coat worth £55 on February 23 and trying to withdraw £26.58 across three transactions at the Lloyds Bank in atria.
He pleaded guilty at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 5 to theft by finding and fraud by representation, and was ordered to pay £55 in compensation to the victim.
Sarah Harty
Sarah Harty, 41, of Malta Street, London, was in court accused of trying to use another woman’s driving licence and bank card to withdraw £2,000 from the Nationwide Building Society in The Parade on November 18, 2023.
Harty appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on April 4 charged with fraud by representation, possessing a false or another person’s identity document and failing to surrender to police.
She also did not attend St Albans Magistrates' Court on February 23 this year as instructed after being released on bail.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty and will be sentenced at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on May 23.
Akanise Saukawa
Akanise Saukawa, 42, of Wickham Lane, London, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on March 5 accused of using other people’s bank cards to buy phones in Watford and various cities across the UK.
For the string of offences, Saukawa was charged with 11 counts of fraud by false representation, 11 counts of possession of articles for use in fraud and two counts of possession of a false passport and a bank card.
The 42-year-old was accused of having another woman’s bank card and using it on July 25, 2023, to buy an Apple iPhone 14 Pro in Watford.
She pleaded guilty to all charges and the case was sent to Woolwich Crown Court for sentencing, with a date and time set to be confirmed.
