Borehamwood coding wonderkid, Aadil Onaolapo, has returned from an all-expenses-paid trip to Dallas after triumphing in a video game-making competition.

Twelve-year-old Aadil impressed judges with his video game, Overheat, in the Code Ninjas’ Prodigy Program competition.

This year's Prodigy Program Game Jam saw young coders, or 'ninjas', develop games tied to the world of drones.

Aadil’s imaginative game received high accolades across the UK.

As the UK champion, Aadil relished witnessing his design light up the Dallas sky at the Sky Elements Drone Light Show.

Aadil said: "Getting the chance to visit the US and attend the drone show was an awesome experience.

"Seeing the technology first-hand has sparked my imagination and fuelled my passion for coding even more.

"I can’t wait to create more projects."

Meha Meghani, Code Ninjas Borehamwood co-owner, said: "What sets the Prodigy Program apart is its focus on fostering creativity and practical application.

"Aadil’s game perfectly exemplifies this approach.

"His unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries was evident throughout the project."

"The judges praised Aadil’s game as a vibrant showcase of innovation, skill and a profound grasp of what makes gaming captivating and enjoyable."
