Social housing residents have been warned they will have to fork out extra rent this year due to a calendar quirk.
As each calendar year includes 52 weeks and one day, the extra days accumulate and are added to the rent period every five or six years.
As the financial year will run from April 1 to April 5, 2025, there will be 53 Mondays with the last landing on March 31, 2025.

Watford Community Housing (WCHT) has notified residents that they will have to pay an extra week of rent within the financial year, while customers eligible for two free weeks will be billed for 51 weeks instead of 50.
The social housing provider has advised that people on Universal Credit should pay more each week to cover the additional days as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed it will not adjust the benefits to account for it.
Thrive Homes said it will divide the extra week across all payments for residents who are charged 48 times a year, while it will just be added to the bill for people who pay weekly.
Residents in Settle housing who pay monthly will need to recalculate their monthly payments to include the extra amount, while direct debits will be automatically adjusted.
