Watford Rotary gifted nearly £20,000 to 17 charities at their annual presentation dinner.

Taking place at the West Herts College restaurant, the ceremony marked a record-breaking amount of fundraising for the club which celebrated its centenary year.

The organisation pulled out all the stops to deliver additional financial support to the community.

Donations will support a variety of causes such as children's physical and mental health, dementia, homelessness, disability, the Watford Food Bank, military veterans, and LGBT+ support.

The largest amount they raised for one single organisation was £6,000 to the Watford Blind Centre, contributing to their building refurbishment.

Watford Rotary also garnered the support of a Rotary International Foundation Global Grant, which enabled them to donate a medical mannequin worth £32,000 to a children’s hospital specialising in heart conditions.

This will help train doctors from developing countries.

All awards were presented at the West Herts College Restaurant, where the catering school students outdid themselves by serving exceptional food at the event last week.
