A Wrexham man has been banned after police caught him driving without a valid licence.

Shaun Martin, of Erddig Road, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old had previously been convicted of drug-driving and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Prosecutor Justin Espie told the court that at around 9pm on August 11 last year, police observed the defendant driving a Mini motor vehicle at "high speed" in Wrexham.

Some 30 seconds later they spotted it stationary, and saw Martin getting out.

When they went to speak to him, he was drug tested.

It turned out he had 2.9 microgrammes of cannabis per litre of blood - the limit being 2.
