Drivers using a motorway near Watford are facing potential disruption to their journeys at the end of this month when it is closed for roadworks.

The M1 is due to be shut southbound from Junction 5 to Junction 1 overnight between May 28 and June 1 when the works are carried out.

Meanwhile, part of a road in Rickmansworth is also set to be shut to motorists for more than a month for extensive gas works.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to be carried out in our area in the coming weeks:

- A small part of High Street, Bushey, will be shut from 7.30am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday for micro-surfacing works. The closure will be in place from High Street to St James’s Church gates.

- Evans Avenue, Watford, will be closed to drivers from Tuesday to Friday, May 24 for works by Affinity Water. A diversion route will be in place.

- Part of Berry Lane, Rickmansworth, will be closed for more than a month from May 27 to enable Cadent to carry out gas main renewal works. The road will be shut until July 5 between the junctions with Highfield Way and Valley Road and a diversion route will be in place.

- A section of the M1 will be closed from Junction 5 at Watford overnight from May 28 to June 1 for roadworks. The motorway is due to be shut southbound to Junction 1 between 10pm and 5.30pm from Tuesday, May 28 to Thursday, May 30 and from 11pm to 6am from Thursday, May 31 to Saturday, June 1. Diversions will be in place on local authority roads.

- A section of The Green, Croxley Green, will be shut to motorists from May 28 to June 2 for works by Affinity Water. The road will be closed near to the junction with Baldwins Lane and an alternative route will be available.
