A shop has applied for permission to sell alcohol, while a road is set to be temporarily shut to allow a bridge to be repaired.

Details of these applications are among the latest round of public notices added to the Public Notice Portal which is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.

Here are five notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in and around the Watford area.

Aldenham Road, Watford – premises licence

RJ Food & Wine, in Aldenham Road, Watford is seeking permission to sell alcohol.

Riekie Singh Ahjua has applied to Watford Borough Council for a premises licence for the shop for the sale of alcohol off the premises only.

Permission is also being sought for the opening hours of the business to be from 7am until 11pm, Monday to Sunday.

Anyone wishing to make representations may do so in writing to: Watford Licensing Authority, Town Hall, Watford WD17 3EX or by email: licensing@watford.gov.uk.

The deadline for representations is December 20.

Wiggenhall Road, Watford – goods vehicle licence

Permission is being sought to use a unit on a Watford industrial estate as the base for a goods vehicle.

Seyed Amin Dabiri of Hillcroome Road, Sutton, SM2 5EL wants to operate one goods vehicle and two trailers from Unit 6, Fishers Industrial Estate, Wiggenhall Road, Watford, WD18 0FE.

Written representations should be made to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7UE.

Water Lane, Watford – temporary closure

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using Water Lane, Watford from its junction with Lower Derby Road south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m to allow bridge repair works to be carried out.

The order, if made, is due to come into force on January 6.

Various roads, Bushey and Bushey Heath – temporary closures

The county council is intending to make an order to temporarily close the following lengths of road to enable works to take place:

- Caldecote Lane, Bushey from its junction with A411 Elstree Road north eastwards to its junction with Hilfield Lane South, a distance of approximately 208m.

- Clay Lane, Bushey Heath from its junction with A411 Elstree Road south eastwards to its junction with The Briars, a distance of approximately 148m.

- A411 Elstree Road, Bushey Heath from its junction with the A41 Tylers Way/A41 North Western Avenue (Watford Bypass) roundabout south westwards to its junction with the A409 Heathbourne Road, a distance of approximately 598m.

If made, this order will come into force on January 3.

Sarratt Road, Sarratt – temporary closure

The county council is intending to make an order to prevent all vehicles from using Sarratt Road, Sarratt from its junction with Solesbridge Lane south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Redhall Lane, a distance of approximately 1536m, except for access.

This is to allow a utility pole to be replaced and the order, if made, will come into force on January 9.
