Drivers are facing disruption as more than 25 roads in and around Watford are set to be shut for roadworks.
As well as streets including Vicarage Road in Watford, the planned closures are due to affect roads in neighbouring towns and villages including Rickmansworth, Chorleywood and Sarratt.
Herts County Council has posted its intention to make the closures in the Public Notice Portal.
This is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.
Meanwhile, the company operating Watford Colosseum has applied for a premises licence to allow it to host a variety of entertainment and sell alcohol when the venue reopens after an extensive refurbishment.

Various roads in Watford, Rickmansworth, Leavesden, Chorleywood, Moor Park and Saratt – temporary closures
Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit any waiting on both sides of the roads while works are carried out:
- Brett Place, Watford from its northernmost junction with The Harebreaks south westwards, south eastwards, and north eastwards for its entire length.
- The Harebreaks, Watford from its junction with Middle Way north westwards to its junction with Chestnut Walk, a distance of approximately 289m.
- Bedford Street, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards for its entire length.
- Granville Road, Watford from its junction with The Crescent north westwards to its junction with King Street, a distance of approximately 152m.
- The Crescent, Watford from its junction with Smith Street south westwards for its entire length.
- Cambridge Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Exchange Road north eastwards to its junction with Granville Road, a distance of approximately 76m.
- Cole Road, Watford from its junction with Stamford Road north westwards for its entire length.
- Stamford Road, Watford from its junction with Langley Road north eastwards to its junction with Park Road, a distance of approximately 175m.
- The northbound carriageway of Vicarage Road, Watford from its junction with Charlock Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 172m.
- Scammell Way, Watford from its easternmost junction with Crusader Way south eastwards to its junction with Vicarage Road, a distance of approximately 170m.

- Ridgehurst Avenue, Watford from its junction with High Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 29m.
- Greenhill Crescent/Hatters Lane roundabout, Watford from its junction with Ascot Road clockwise for its entire length.
- Greenhill Crescent, Watford from its junction with the Ascot Road/Hatters Lane roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 51m.
- Ascot Road, Watford from its junction with the Greenhill Crescent/Hatters Lane roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 76m.
- Clements Road, Chorleywood from its junction with Common Gate Road south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 92m.
- Common Gate Bottom, Chorleywood from its junction with Chorleywood Bottom south eastwards and southwards to its junction with Berry Lane, a distance of approximately 377m.
- A4145 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its junction with the A404 London Road roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Sandy Lodge Road, a distance of approximately 1290m.
- The service road fronting Nos.2-116 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its westernmost junction with A4145 Moor Lane south eastwards, north eastwards, north westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.
- Quickmoor Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Bucks Hill south westwards to its junction with Commonwood, a distance of approximately 484m.
- Bucks Hill, Sarratt from its junction with Buckscroft north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Sarratt Public Bridleway No.057, a distance of approximately 396m.
- Red Lion Lane, Sarratt from its junction with The Green north eastwards to its junction with Bottom Lane, a distance of approximately 308m.
- The Green, Sarratt from its junction with Sarratt Public Footpath No.048 north westwards for a distance of approximately 280m.
- Bury Lane, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.
- Ebury Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Ornal Mead north eastwards to its junction with Bury Lane, a distance of approximately 140m.
- The existing one-way traffic system on Bury Lane, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Ebury Road, a distance of approximately 208m, will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
If made, this order will come into force on March 24.

- Lord Street, Watford/Queens Road the Broadway, Woodside from its junction with Loates Lane south eastwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 254m.
- St Johns Road, Watford from its junction with Queens Road The Broadway north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 52m.
- Loates Lane, Watford from its junction with Queens Road The Broadway south westwards to its junction with Duke Street, a distance of approximately 55m.
This order, if made, will come into force on March 31.

Watford Colosseum, Rickmansworth Road – premises licence
The company operating Watford Colosseum has applied for a licence to stage various forms of entertainment and sell alcohol.
The Rickmansworth Road venue is due to reopen in the autumn following a major refurbishment and, ahead of this, AEG Presents Ltd have applied to Watford Borough Council for a premises licence.
If granted, the application will allow the following licensable activities to take place: performance of plays; exhibition of films; indoor sporting events, boxing and wrestling; performance of live music; playing of recorded music; performances of dance and entertainment similar to music or dance and the sale of alcohol, Mondays to Sundays.
The standard hours for all licensable activities will be 10am to 2pm (late night refreshment 11pm to 2am), and the standard opening hours will be 8am to 3am daily.
However, the application adds that “operating hours will depend in practice on the nature of any auditorium event and will be subject to risk assessment/licence conditions”.

The Co-op, Carpenders Park – premises licence
The Co-op has applied to vary the licence for its store in Carpenders Park.
The company wants it extend the licensable hours for its premises at 10-11 The Parade, Delta Gain, Carpenders Park, Watford WD19 5BL to 6am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday, and remove the following non-standard hours: Good Friday, 8am to 10.30pm; Christmas Day 12 noon to 3pm and 7pm to 10.30pm.
