Rickmansworth Road planned closure among public notices

Herts County Council has used the Public Notice Portal to publish its intention to make an order to close Rickmansworth Road from potentially as soon as April 1.

The portal is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.

The county council has also signalled its intention to close several other roads in and around Watford to enable works to be carried out.

All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months from the date they come into force, but restrictions will only apply at times shown at or near the relevant locations.

Here are five notices we’ve rounded up that could affect residents in and around Watford.

Various roads in Watford – temporary closures and waiting restrictions

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of roads and to prohibit any waiting on both sides of the roads while works are in progress:

- A412 Rickmansworth Road, Watford from its junction with the Ascot Road/A412 Watford Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with A4178 Cassio Road, a distance of approximately 1683m.

- Hagden Lane, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Whippendell Road, a distance of approximately 352m.

- Metropolitan Station Approach, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road north westwards to its junction with Manhattan Avenue, a distance of approximately 185m.

The order, if made, will come into force on April 1.

Various roads in Watford and South Oxhey – temporary closures and waiting restrictions

The county council is intending to make an order temporarily closing the following lengths of roads, except for access, and to prohibit drivers from waiting on both sides of the roads while works are carried out:

- Halsey Road, Watford from its junction with Rosslyn Road north eastwards for its entire length.

- Shepherds Road, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road north eastwards to its junction with Cassiobury Park Avenue, a distance of approximately 295m.

- Widgeon Way, Watford from its junction with Meriden Way north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with York Way, a distance of approximately 331m.

- Kelshall, Watford from its junction with Widgeon Way south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Westlea Avenue, a distance of approximately 119m.

- Fulford Grove, South Oxhey from its junction with its westernmost junction with Hayling Road northwards, north eastwards, eastwards, south eastwards and southwards to its easternmost junction with Hayling Road, a distance of approximately 592m.

- Ravenscroft, Watford from its junction with Falcon Way southwards, south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

If made, this order will come into force on March 31.

The Green, Croxley Green – temporary closure

An order is set to be made to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:

- The Green, Croxley Green from its junction with Baldwins Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 271m.

- The Green, Croxley Green/Sarratt Road, Sarratt from its junction with Baldwins Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 233m.

This order, if made, will come into force on March 31.

Queenswood Crescent, Croxley Green – temporary closure

An order is set to be made to temporarily close Queenswood Crescent, Watford from a point in line with the south east boundary of No.45 Queenswood Crescent north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m.

This is to allow utility service works to be carried out and the order, if made, will come into force on March 31.

Shepherds Lane, Chorleywood – temporary closure

Also for utility works, the county council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using that length of Shepherds Lane, Chorleywood from a point 174m south west of its junction with Chorleywood Public Footpath No.029 north westwards for a distance of approximately 140m, except for access.

If made, this order will come into force on March 31.
