Some of Watford’s busiest roads are among the latest planned road closures in the Watford area.
Herts County Council has used the Public Notice Portal to publish its intention to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using sections of Dalton Way, Waterfields Way and Lower High Street.
The portal is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.
The latest public notices also include an application for a premises licence for a new pizza restaurant which, if granted, will allow it to remain open until 2am from Monday to Saturday.
All temporary road closure orders and other restrictions are valid for up to 18 months from the date they come into force, but restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the relevant locations.
Here are five notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in the Watford area.
Various roads, Watford – temporary closure
Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of road and to prevent all vehicles from waiting on both sides of the lengths of the road while works are in progress:
- A411 Dalton Way, Watford from its junction with A411 Lower High Street south westwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A411 Waterfields Way, a distance of approximately 556m.
- The northbound carriageway of A411 Waterfields Way, Watford from its junction with A411 Dalton Way north eastwards to its junction with the Colne Valley Retail Park access road roundabout, a distance of approximately 299m.
- The southbound carriageway of A411 Waterfields Way, Watford from its junction with the Colne Valley Retail Park access road roundabout south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 246m.
A411 Lower High Street, Watford from its junction with A411 Waterfields Way south eastwards to its junction with Bushey Arches roundabout, a distance of approximately 342m.
- A411 Lower High Street, Watford from its junction with the northbound carriageway of A411 Waterfields Way north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the southbound carriageway of A411 Waterfields Way, a distance of approximately 65m.
The order, if made, will come into force on June 16.
Vicarage Road, Watford – temporary closure
The county council is intending to make an order to temporarily close Vicarage Road, Watford from its junction with Rose Gardens north eastwards to its junction with Willow Lane, a distance of approximately 63m.
Additionally, all vehicles will be prevented from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road while the words are carried out.
If made, this order will come into force on June 16.
Vicarage Road, Watford – premises licence
A new pizza restaurant has applied for permission to serve customers until 2am on all days except Sunday.
Prashant Patel has applied for the premises licence for Caprinos Pizza, 99, Vicarage Road, Watford WD18 0EB.
The proposed licensable activities are to allow late night refreshment from 11pm to 2am, Monday to Saturday; play recorded music from 11pm to 2am, Monday to Saturday; opening hours of 11am to 2am, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 11pm on Sunday.
Any person wishing to make representations may do so in writing to Watford Licensing Authority, Town Hall, Watford WD17 3EX or email licensing@watford.gov.uk by Monday at the latest.
Harcourt Road, Bushey – temporary closure
Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prevent all vehicles from using Harcourt Road, Bushey from its junction with Moat View Court north eastwards to its junction with Reddings Avenue, a distance of approximately 192m, to enable works to take place.
If made, this order will come into force on June 16.
Bucks Hill, Sarratt – temporary closure
An order is intended to be made to temporarily close Bucks Hill, Sarratt from a point 43m north west of its junction with Sarratt Public Footpath No.011 north westwards for a distance of approximately 42m, except for access, to allow utility service works to take place.
This order, if made, will come into force on June 16.
