The Grove Hotel to build 'world-class' golf academy near Watford

The Grove in Chandler's Cross has been successful in its bid to add a "world class" golf academy to its offering after Three Rivers District Council gave the green light.

A similar application was approved last year, only for the hotel to submit a revised plan with changes to the location in March of this year.

Golf at The Grove hotel (Image: The Grove) Planning documents had said that the new facilities will serve as the hub for a golf academy where personalised fittings and testing for bespoke clubs would be on offer, replacing the existing “experience truck” at the driving range.

A decision notice published on Tuesday (June 10) confirms the council's decision and means that work can now get under way on the new facility.

It will include three training rooms, a potting studio, locker room and workshop for visitors, as well as a reception, offices, storage area and lounge.

The hotel has previously won acclaim for its golf offering, being named England’s Best Golf Hotel at the World Golf Awards last year.
