THE first supermarket in Watford was Tesco on the Parade. It opened in the late 1950's.
The first burger place was The Wimpy Bar, also on the Parade but farther south opposite Cawdells. That also arrived in the late 1950's or around 1960.

THE first supermarket in Watford was Fine Fare which appeared next to Baby World on The Parade, Watford. Later another supermarket appeared on the parade, but I cannot recall its name.
Then, in 1964, a new and bigger supermarket appeared on the site of the old Odeon Cinema, next to Bailey's radio and electrical shop.
