All temporary road closure orders are valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times indicated by signs on or near the road.
Here are five notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in and around the Watford area.
Vicarage Road, Watford – premises licence
A fishmongers and grocery shop has applied for permission to sell alcohol.
The owners of HM’s Fishmongers & Grocers, of 75 Vicarage Rd, Watford WD18 0EJ, is seeking permission from Watford Borough Council to sell alcohol from 7am to midnight, Monday to Sunday, for off sales only.
Anyone wishing to make representations should do so in writing to Watford Licensing Authority, Town Hall, Watford WD17 3EX or email licensing@watford.gov.uk by October 27 at the latest.
High Street, Bushey – premises licence
Permission is being sought by a grocery store to sell alcohol.
The owners of Bushey Food & Wine, 150 High St, Bushey, WD23 3DH has applied to Hertsmere Borough Council to able to sell alcohol off sales only from 6am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
Representations should be made in writing to The Licensing Officer, Hertsmere Borough Council, Civic Offices, Elstree way, Borehamwood, Herts. WD6 1WA or email: licensing.services@hertsmere.gov.uk by October 26.
Various roads, Watford area – temporary closures
Herts County council is intending to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except of access, and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of the roads whilst works are in progress:
- Chapel Close, Watford from its junction with High Road north westwards, south westwards and clockwise for its entire length.
- Roseberry Court, Watford from a point 25m south west of its junction with Grandfield Avenue north westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 18m.
- Rasehill Close, Rickmansworth from its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road north eastwards for its entire length.
- The service road fronting 2-116 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its easternmost junction with A4145 Moor Lane south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 975m.
- Fuller Gardens, Watford from its northernmost junction with Fuller Road north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 168m.
- Edinburgh Avenue, Rickmansworth from its easternmost junction with Oakfield clockwise for a distance of approximately 71m.
- The Green, Sarratt from a point 9m north west of its junction with Dawes Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 52m.
- Lavinia Avenue, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards, south westwards, clockwise, south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.
- King Georges Avenue, Watford from its westernmost junction with Whippendell Road northwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 522m.
- Landford Close, Rickmansworth from its junction with Sherfield Avenue south eastwards, north eastwards and clockwise for its entire length.
- Piltdown Road, South Oxhey from its junction with Muirfield Road north eastwards for its entire length.
- Springfield Close, Croxley Green from its junction with Winton Drive north westwards and clockwise for its entire length.
- Garden Close, Watford from its junction with The Gardens south eastwards for its entire length.
If made, this order will come into force on October 27.
Orphanage Road, Watford – temporary closure
The county council is intending to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using Orphanage Road, Watford from its junction with Radlett Road roundabout northwards and south westwards to its junction with the Reeds Roundabout, a distance of approximately 319m, to allow service works to take place.
This order, if made, will come into force on October 27.
Chequers Lane, Watford – goods vehicle operator’s licence
A company has applied for permission to base three goods vehicles at a former nursery site.
Chequers Lane Watford Ltd, of 107 Sylvia Avenue, Pinner HA5 4QL, is applying for a licence to use Waterdell Nursery, Chequers Lane, Watford, WD25 0GR as an operating centre for three goods vehicles.
Any representations should be made to the Traffic Commissioner, Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE.
