Public notices for Watford and nearby including road closures

Details of these applications are among the latest round of public notices added to the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.

All temporary road closures and other restrictions are valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times indicated by signs on or near the road.

Here are four notices we have rounded up that could affect residents in and around the Watford area.

Langley Road, Watford - temporary closure

Hertfordshire County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the road from its junction with the A411 Hempstead Road south westwards to its junction with Woodland Drive, a distance of approximately 71m.

An alternative route will be via the A411 Hempstead Road, Stratford Road and Woodland Drive.

The order, if made, is due to come into force on December 8.

Tibbs Hill Road, Abbots Langley - temporary closure

Hertfordshire County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the road from its junction with Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.051 south eastwards for a distance of approximately 72m.

An alternative route will be via High Street, Gallows Hill Lane, Gallows Hill, Hamilton Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, South Way, Langley Lane and Tibbs Hill Road.

The order, if made, is due to come into force on December 12.

Vicarage Road, Watford - temporary closure

Hertfordshire County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the road from its junction with the A4178 Merton Road north-westwards to its junction with A411 Exchange Road, a distance of approximately 72m.

Alternative routes will be in place via A4178 (Kingsfield Road/Faradale Road/Fernley Street/The Metes/Merton Road/Cassiobury Road), A412 St Albans Road and A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road) or via A411 Exchange Road, A412 St Albans Road and A4178 (Cassiobury Road/Merton Road).

The order, if made, is due to come into force on December 12.

Kings Langley Village Store - premises licence

A premises licence application has been submitted for a new convenience store in Kings Langley High Street.

Applicant Mr Ritesh Shah has applied to open in the former Laines and Company unit at 8 High Street.

According to application documents, the new store will sell alcohol, soft drinks, confectionery, frozen and chilled foods, tobacco products and ice cream.

Opening hours would be from 7am until 10pm seven days a week, with an alcohol licence also being sought for the same hours.
