"Urgent improvement" is needed at a big-name chicken shop in Hemel Hempstead after it was given a 0/5 food hygiene score.
Peri Peri Original, which says it operates over 40 stores nationwide, had its Marlowes branch inspected on March 5 and the result published this week.
It received the worst possible score in two of the three categories it was assessed on: management of food safety and the cleanliness and condition of the building.
Its handling of food was "generally satisfactory".
Peri Peri Original has been contacted for comment.

According to the Food Standards Agency website, cleanliness and condition of facilities refers to "having the appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene".
Management of food safety is described as the “system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future”.
Peri Peri Original has more than 40 stores across the UK, including in Watford, where the company is based.
Its other Hertfordshire locations are in Stevenage, St Albans, Hatfield and Hitchin.
The Hemel Hempstead branch is now the only Dacorum business to have a 0/5 rating, while seven venues in the borough have a 1/5 score at time of writing.
