A classic car show's organiser has hailed its successful return, declaring it "back with a bang" after a four-year break.
Classics on the Green roared back to Croxley Green over the bank holiday weekend (May 3), raising around £6,000 for good causes including the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Service.
Kevin France, director of Watford and District Classic Vehicles Trust, told the Watford Observer: "The public came out in droves to see 500 cars, trucks and bikes ride on the fairground and listen to live music from the Lynch Mob UK.
"It had been four years since the last Classics on the Green and we came back with a bang."
He added: "With the weather being very kind to us on the day meant that many more people came to the Green. One of our helpers even came up from Devon in his classic Ford Escort. The team did a fantastic job on the day to keep traffic flowing into the site and on the road."

Since its inception in 2002, the event has raised £120,000 for various good causes in the Watford area.
The annual spectacle initially stopped due to Covid before briefly returning in 2022, only to go on an indefinite hiatus as a result of various factors, including a lack of volunteers and concerns about the impact of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) expansion.
