The best secondary schools in Hertfordshire have been revealed in a ranking by The Telegraph.
Whether you’re looking for a secondary school for your child, or are curious to see which in the area are the best, look no further.
The newspaper has ranked secondary schools across the UK using “publicly available data – from exam results to class size” to determine the best.
It said: “The Telegraph analysed data from almost 3,500 state sector secondary schools in England to provide each school with a score out of 40.”
Factors used to determine the scores include the school’s GCSE performance, low absence rates and class sizes.
The best secondary schools in Hertfordshire revealed
The Telegraph’s search tool allows you to enter postcodes from across the UK to find the best secondary schools near you.
In the whole of Hertfordshire, it was Watford Grammar School for Boys that was ranked the best in the county.
Watford Grammar School for Boys had an overall rating of 'very good', a total score of 38 out of 40, and a GCSE performance of 72.5%, earning the national ranking of 59.
While in 76th place, Beaumont School in St Albans was the second-best secondary school in Hertfordshire with a rating of 'very good', a score of 38 out of 40, and a GCSE performance of 56.3%.
Close behind was Watford Grammar School for Girls, which also had a score of 38 out of 40 and a rating of 'very good', but with a GCSE performance of 51.4%, in the 83rd spot on the national ranking.
Elsewhere, in the Stevenage area, it was The Bishop's Stortford High School and St Mary's Catholic School that were among the best.
Bishop's Stortford High School has a 'very good rating' with a score of 34 out of 40, and a GCSE performance of 52.7%.
While St Mary's Catholic School has a GCSE performance of 36.2%, a score of 34 out of 5 and a rating of 'very good'.

What is the best secondary school in England?
The number one spot in the national secondary school ranking went to King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford, which earned top scores in all categories.
The school has a GCSE performance result of 97%, seeing pupils gain a five or above in subjects like English, maths, science and history.
