Watford looks set to get a new a new fish and chip shop, with a growing chain expanding into the town.
Mother Hubbard's has taken over a unit in St Albans Road, next to Biryani Bytes, which opened last year.
Its website says: "Fish and chips are loved by every generation. Are you looking for crispy batter on the tastiest fish, succulent chips & perfect mushy peas?
"Look no further than Mother Hubbard’s and indulge in the finest traditional fish & chips in the area."
Founded in Bradford, the first Mother Hubbard's fish and chip shop shop opened in 1972 and was unveiled by Coronation Street stars Bernard Youens and Jean Alexander, who played Stan and Hilda Olgen in the ITV soap.

Most of its existing shops are in Yorkshire and the surrounding area, although its current expansion means stores are planned in Coventry, Glasgow, Manchester and several areas of London, as well as Watford.

There is already a Mother Hubbard's in Hemel Hempstead and its arrival in Watford has been warmly welcomed on social media.
One commenter said that the Hemel shop "does amazing fish and chips".
Mother Hubbard's says that it uses only "the finest Icelandic haddock & British potatoes to produce the crispiest battered fresh fish and golden chips".
