Burgers will be sold for just 1p this weekend to celebrate the opening of a new Watford eatery that claims to be the first of its kind in the UK.
Habibi's will be opening in Market Street on Saturday (July 18), taking over the unit at 38 that was previously occupied by the short-lived Chai Khana café.

It describes itself as the "UK's first burger café" and has promised a menu which includes "smash burgers, Nashville burgers, iced matchas and viral scoopable coffee doughs".

The first 200 customers through the door on Saturday will get a burger for just 1p.
The unit has been vacant since November 2025 after the sudden closure of Chai Khana, which had only opened that summer.

It is the third upcoming Watford business opening to be confirmed this week after the Watford Observer reported on the imminent arrivals of Burger Boi and Iran Table.
Smash burger chain Burger Boi is eyeing an end of August opening in the Ascot Road Morrisons store, while Persian restaurant Iran Table has submitted a premises licence application for the former WD18 Bar & Restaurant unit in Vicarage Road.
