Great Missenden Care Centre explains how national award win is built on compassion
Woodlands Park is a small, specialist centre that cares for residents with long-term conditions, including dementia. It also provides person-centred respite care services to support local families in Buckinghamshire.
Across its 27 private rooms, many equipped with en suites and extensive communal spaces and grounds, the team concentrate on providing care with dignity and warmth, supported by personalised lifestyle programmes, professional catering and facilities such as an in-centre beauty salon and barber.
The recognition of the Lottie Awards is seen as a celebration of the work of the Woodlands Park team, which strives to go above and beyond in every interaction, with a belief that:
- Promoting independence and choice enhances quality of life
- Delivering personalised care supports dignity and autonomy
- Building meaningful relationships helps residents remain connected with family, friends and the wider community
These are among the qualities recognised by the Lottie Awards, which assess providers against a range of independent measures.
They grant awards based on the quality of care provided, including consideration of feedback from residents and families, the standards of on-site facilities, workplace culture, such as staff wellbeing and support and efficiency, such as response times to enquiries and day-to-day management.
Forest Healthcare was selected as one of the ten best-regarded medium providers in the awards, adding to Forest Healthcare's growing list of independent industry recognitions. It is also Veteran Friendly Framework-accredited and a repeat winner at the CareHome.co.uk awards for Top 20 Mid-Size Large Care Home Group.

Woodlands Park Care Centre clarifies the importance of independent recognition
Care Centre Manager, Marie Shouler from Woodlands Park says: "Awards like this, judged against care providers from across the UK, are a wonderful way to help us celebrate something we hold dear — that outstanding care is built with kindness, consistency and a commitment to taking the time to understand every resident as an individual. That doesn’t only mean custom care plans, but collaboration with loved ones, listening to wishes and preferences, and adjusting every aspect of the care we deliver to each person’s likes, dislikes and personality.
"We are incredibly proud to be part of Forest Healthcare and to have been named a top provider through separate, wholly objective, independent awards.
The team at Woodlands Park hopes the award will encourage local families to feel confident asking questions, visiting the home and learning more about the personalised care available within the Great Missenden community."
Forest Healthcare operates with a focus on transparent information and advice for families and ensuring those in need of dedicated care receive guidance throughout the process. This involves individual care plans, 24-hour support, access to engaging, enjoyable activities, comfy accommodation and experienced nursing and care teams.
