- There was heavy traffic on the M1 this afternoon after a vehicle fire broke out near Hemel Hempstead and St Albans.
- It was reported within the M1 northbound at 12.43pm.
- One vehicle was alight and two fire engines worked to put it out, before damping down the scene.
- Herts Police shut two lanes during the fire and during recovery work that followed.
