Two footpaths are set to close this summer to allow for works.

Hertfordshire County Council has announced the temporary closure of footpaths in Watford from August 10, 2026, with the order remaining in effect for a period of six months.

The closures will enable works to be carried out on or near the footpaths and will affect a 63-metre section between 31 and 33 Blackthorn Close, extending south-west to its junction with Weal Green, as well as an 88-metre section on the south-east side of 179 Horseshoe Lane, running south-west, south-east, and south-west again to its junction with Poplars Close.

The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

All pedestrians will be prohibited from using the affected sections during the works, with signage in place to indicate when restrictions are active.

Anyone with questions about the closure can contact Darren Barr at Ringway on 0300 123 4047.
