An "immersive" new Harlequin business is set to open tomorrow (August 8), offering customers "something completely different".

Activate Games uses technology to host games based around climbing, puzzle solving, and laser challenges.

The Watford venue will feature Activate's signature games, including Strike, Portals, Control, Press, Hide, Laser, Grid, Mega Grid and Hoop.

Richard Beese, CEO and founder of We Do Play, said: "We're delighted to be bringing Activate to Watford and wanted to celebrate the opening by giving as many people as possible the opportunity to experience it with 50% off during our launch weekend.

"Activate offers something completely different. Every game is designed to get people moving, working together and challenging themselves, making it a fantastic experience whether you're visiting with family during the summer holidays, friends or colleagues."

To celebrate the launch, customers will be offered 50 per cent off all games on Saturday and Sunday (August 8 and 9).

The branch is one of four set to open this summer, with others planned in Maidstone, Basingstoke and Dorset.

It currently has six existing UK locations, as well as a presence in 13 other countries.

Harlequin centre director Simon Plumb said: "We're thrilled to welcome Activate to Harlequin Watford and give our visitors another exciting reason to spend time at the centre. Whether you're planning a family day out, catching up with friends or looking to try something new, Activate is a fantastic addition to our leisure offering.

"Together with our great mix of shops, restaurants and entertainment, it makes Harlequin an even better place to enjoy quality time and create memorable experiences."

Its existing locations include at London's O2 Arena, with the centre boasting a score of 4.9 from 1,354 reviews on Google.

The Watford venue will be the latest opening in a busy year for the Harlequin that has also seen it welcome Space NK and Suit Direct to the centre.
