SWEARING, Irish folk music and weapons of mass destruction were just some of the topics Tory parliamentary spokesman for Waford Ali Miraj debated on Radio Five Live.
Mr Miraj, who hopes to be the next MP for Watford, joined Cherie Blair's half sister Lauren Booth on the Matthew Bannister show last week.
The 28-year-old, who is passionate about "funky US house music", and was referred to on the show as the "Tory party’s number one DJ", is keen to promote himself as the "new fun side of the party" which is trying to shed its stuffy image.
He said: "It's important for the modern Conservative party to reach out to a wider audience and engage with all kinds of voters, particularly the young who have lost interest in party politics."
Mr Miraj will appear on the show again on Monday, 23 June, from 10pm.
