A POSTMAN found with more than six hundred letters in the back of his car had taken the items out of curiosity Watford magistrates heard.
Simon Wall, 25, of Delta Gain, Carpenders Park, had only been in the job a matter of months before amassing the huge haul of mail which should have been delivered in South Oxhey.
He was found out when items of mail were noticed on the back seat of his car on Wednesday, April 16.
A search of the boot revealed hundreds more items, some of which had been opened.
Wall was interviewed and admitted to opening some packages and throwing their contents away.
He was ordered to carry out a 160 hour community punishment order and pay £220 in costs.
