THE Harlequin shopping centre is to undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment.
The Food Court will be demolished and replaced with a top high-street fashion store.
Work to pull down five restaurants and cafés, which include Kentucky Fried Chicken and Little Chef Express, has already begun.
It paves the way for a new flagship branch of Zara, which boasts Victoria Beckham and supermodel Kate Moss among its customers.
The new store will take up 18,000 square feet of the lower mall and is scheduled to open in Easter 2004.
It is part of a series of changes to the centre.
Two new restaurants, Burger King and Sbarro, an American pizza and pasta chain, will be built on the upper mall next to Boots the chemist.
