IT could have been a Christmas disaster, but thanks to an appeal carried in The Watford Observer Santa Claus and his sleigh will ride again in Bushey.

In an article last month, Bushey and Oxhey Round Table said they feared their Christmas collection would be jeopardised if they did not find someone to provide a tow vehicle to transport Santa.

Mr Ian Frost from Bushey and Oxhey Round Table said: "We are delighted to confirm that the annual Christmas collection will take place.

“We received two offers of a tow vehicle within days of the article being published.” The sleigh will be towed round the streets of Bushey and Oxhey by a Hyundia supplied by Bushey Heath Garage Ltd.

Mr O'Donoghue, director at Bushey Heath Garage, said he was pleased to be able to help.

“Over the last few years Bushey Heath Garage has supported the Bushey Carnival with a vehicle for a ‘roll a dice competition’ and this is an extension of our support,” he said.

“It is Bushey Heath Garage and Hyundai’s policy to work in the community with local organisations where ever possible, and the Round Table do a fantastic job and are well known for there fund raising events.” The Round Table collection will take place between Monday, December 8 and Friday, December 19.
