A WELL-LOVED and respected family man found hanging by his wife took his own life as he was unable to cope with increasing financial troubles, an inquest concluded today.

Mayur Hindocha, 37, a father of three children under 13, was found by his wife Yasmin at their home in Aspen Close, Bricket Wood, on the afternoon of June 4, after she returned from work, troubled that he had been in a strange mood that morning.

Coroner Edward Thomas told the hearing : "Sergeant Karen Lewis arrived at the scene and quickly established that Mr Hindocha had taken his own life and that no third party was involved.

"There was some noted disturbance to cupboards in the bedroom, but Sergeant Lewis has said that it is evident that these were opened as you, Mrs Hindocha, frantically searched for a knife to cut your husband down.

"Based on these findings it is evident to me that Mr Hindocha intended to take his own life and died by asphxyiation. He had been experiencing increasing financial troubles and felt that his only way out was to take his own life."

Toxicology tests showed no signs of drugs or poison in Mr Hindocha's blood and urine and medical reports showed no history of depression.

Bindi Karim, cousin of Mr Hindocha , told Hatfield Coroner's Court: "Mayur was a loved husband, father, cousin, nephew and son and he leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly."
